We have continued in another couple weeks of school and just want to share some of what we have been doing. In Little Hands to Heaven, we have continued on through the Bible and just finished spending a couple of weeks on Jacob and Joseph. We have been able to have some great character-building talks on forgiveness, study the letters "D" and "E", and do a few simple crafts. Susie especially loves the finger-plays that accompany each weeks' lesson and repeats them often!
| Mikayla is writing and disguising her name, just like Jacob did to steal Esau's inheritance. |
I wish I had pictures of the girls writing the letter D in shaving cream, but I had to be quite handy with wipes and towels! :) They loved every minute of it!
| The girls are making their E and filling it with macaroni! |
Here are a few pictures of Mikayla's salt-art picture. We made a picture of Joseph waiting for his brothers to return to Egypt with their families. To make the desert sand, we took salt and mixed it with food coloring... it really glittered and looked awesome!
Mikayla continues to progress in HoP and I love to see her start to get the hang of reading simple words!
Three weeks ago, Mikayla started Homeschool P.E. at a local University. It is an awesome program run by the education major students. This has challenged her a little bit, because she is a bit scared of some the young men teaching her. Thankfully, we are blessed with some other great friends in the class and every week is getting better and she is making great strides in overcoming her fears.
Well, that's what we have been up to... this coming week will be a lot of fun as we continue in our teaching and shepherding of the the little hearts in our home!
It looks like you are in a similar as we are in Little Hands!! What fun! :) I love their sweet smiles & your sand art picture turned out great!!
