Weekly Wrap Up!

Ok, so I am doing a horrible job of keeping up here, but we are already finished with our 4th week of homeschooling! Time sure does fly!  The curriculum we are using is from Heart of Dakota's Little Hands to Heaven. It is a perfect preschool curriculum because it is God-centered and has the added benefit that Susie Q can work right alongside her big sister. Mikayla is also working through the Hooked on Phonics program and loving every minute of it! So, here are some of the things we have been working on...

When studying Noah's Ark, we started with a pile of objects and decided whether they would sink or float when placed in a tub of water.  Some of the end results even surprised me!

Before experiment!

ALL SORTED!

We have also had a new memory verse each week in addition to the one Mikayla learns for Sunday school and every day starts off with a Bible Story. Both girls fight over their school Bible and decide who will get to teach a story to our poor little kittens (who are great sports about all their schooling!).

For Math, we put a piece of masking tape on the floor to see who would jump long, longer, and longest  (I won!)-- this was a big hit with both girls!  And in HoP, Mikayla is learning to string together "at" words and "an" words. This was very impressive to both her Daddy and myself as we listened to her read her first stories by herself! How awesome! Hopefully, I will get on here to post a little more frequently, but we are lovin' our homeschool adventure thus far!
