Fall Fun

I know that soon I will be posting the fun things we are doing for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I want to take a second to revisit October and some of our Halloween/Harvest activities.

Early in October, we were able to visit a local pumpkin patch with our church family.  The girls enjoyed the hayride, picking just the right pumpkin, and playing with their friends in the corn maze.  Naturally, what they remember and talk about are the animals on the farm! They love all animals so much!

Halloween always seems to be a frustrating holiday for me. I have little girls who love to play dress-up, want to dress up so badly, but I hate most of what Halloween is about. There will be no witchcraft, goblins, monsters, ghosts, etc. at my house during Halloween. I always feel like this holiday is in direct conflict with my faith in God and have a hard time trying to make it a positive experience for anyone... Thank goodness for Our Family for His Glory who posted about the Pumpkin Parable. Although I was unable to locate this book by Halloween, I know I will have it next year and I was able to find a few faith-based activities for this year through a basic internet search.

One of the ones we did was The Pumpkin Prayer  from Christian Crafters.

Isn't this always our prayer?  Let us shine His light in ALL that we do... whether it is work, school, or even Halloween!  :)

Mikayla and Susannah really seemed to enjoy their photo shoot! It was a lot of fun, even if it was a bit chilly for Mikayla to be out and about without sleeves!
