First of all, everything we did was found on the Impress Your Kids website, specifically her Meaningful Easter post. Over forty people have linked up with Resurrection ideas! It is awesome to see so many families share their traditions for the most important holiday we celebrate!
Here are some of the things we were able to do this year!
1. Cross Cards from Our Family for His Glory
Essentially, you take card stock and fold it in half to make a card. Apply a cross with masking tape and use dot paints to color the front of the card. When the paint dries, remove the tape!
It was a huge hit with Mikayla and Susannah as well as the Sunday school teachers who received them!
2. We made Resurrection Rolls
I don't have pictures because they were very tasty and disappeared almost as soon as they were finished!
3. We then made a little garden. This is also from Impress Your Kids.
On Good Friday, we gathered together some supplies from around the yard...trimmings from plants, rocks, flowers, etc. We also placed a potato at the back to be Jesus' tomb. I worked on Saturday, and by the time I brought the girls home, it was really starting to wilt. They were a bit sad over this.
Then, on Resurrection Day, they awoke to find a completely different garden!
The girls were so excited by the change in their garden!
We also went to Sunday school and church, enjoyed a great meal with family, and spent the evening hanging out together. Although we had a great time, I think that what Mikayla will remember about this past Sunday is that it was all about Jesus. What could more awesome than that?
